BiBi Tanga along side The Selenites through down some seriously heavy groove on this album Dunya to be release in North America June 1, 2010. Picking up, dare i say it, where many greats have left of Bibi just absolutely kills it on the featured track “The Earth It Moves”. Developing some crazy Parisian modern afro-funk groove with dope flare ups of disco elements, this track is going to be a staple in my library in the days forth coming. Here’s the offical pitch for this cat:
“Singer, bassist and bandleader Bibi Tanga bridges the divide between the arty South Bank of the Seine in Paris and the gritty suburbs, where he grew up as an immigrant from the Central African Republic.
Sounds like.. Fela Kuti, Michael Franti, TV On The Radio, Antibalas, Tricky, Jamiroquai” – The Musebox (Records).
Here are a couple of the highlights from the album … just go give you folks a taste of what is to come this summer from this cat. I must note however my only fear for these kids is that the album might be slept on, but the quality of the music not to mention the production will leave only a positive impression on the true heads.
